Fabulous lace

Whilst lace was born in Venice in the 16th century, precious Leavers lace first appeared around 1810. Since then, it has been the cornerstone of the most luxurious underwear.

The world's most prized material. The epitome of refinement, luxury and sensuality. A French speciality since the 19th century, Leavers lace was in fact born in England, the result of inventing a net weaving machine which was revolutionary in its day – later smuggled into the Calais region dismantled into pieces due to trading laws at the time. In 1813, Mr Leavers hit on the idea of adapting these new machines to traditional mechanical weaving machines. And so Leavers lace was born, bringing with it the amazing opportunity to create all sorts of patterns, and the freedom to produce a whole host of combinations. Perpetuating and enhancing this age-old expertise, and constantly expanding its creativity, Aubade has used this beautiful material on its designs for 60 years.

This season, it is showcased on Aube Amoureuse: its shades of red and deep black/purple grace an entire range that flatters the curves on a highwaisted brief, for example, as well as on three other styles of briefs and five styles of bras including two available up to cup size F, and a suspender belt.

It is even more romantic on Danse des Sens, comprising floral motif braid trims in rosewater, opal or black colours. Its stunningly delicate appearance features in particular on a new non-underwired triangle bralette.

And for Femme Glamour, Aubade gives it a new twist in black and powder pink. Accentuated with silk satin and sprinkled with diamantés, it adorns a feather-light triangle bra as well as half-cup, comfort half-cup or padded plunge bras.
